BKIEC partners with fellow STEM Enthusiast
BK International Education Consultancy has partnered with Perspective STEM Education to promote K-12 STEM Education for all students. Bejanae Kareem, Executive Director of BK International Education Consultancy, and Magalie Awosika, Chief Executive Officer of Perspective STEM Education, are two former teachers and STEM enthusiasts who have teamed up to utilize their shared expertise in the STEM education field along with their past teaching experience. BK International Education Consultancy is excited to collaborate with Perspective STEM education on providing education leaders a higher level of support for integrating STEM teaching and learning. “Through this partnership, we will increase STEM's impact throughout the state of Georgia,” said Bejanae Kareem.

Talk to an Astronaut!
BK International Education Consultancy (BKIEC) partnered with the Atlanta Science Festival (ASF) to present K-8 students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to speak with astronaut Tim Kopra aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on March 8, 2016. BKIEC and ASF, in collaboration with Fernbank Science Center, NASA Solar System Ambassadors, North Fulton Amateur Radio League hosted this unique experience where students explored how science and technology are used to benefit life on earth and in space.
BK Consultancy joined forces with Million Women Mentors® to tackle gender inequality in STEM fields through mentorship. Bejanae Kareem, Executive Director of BK International Education Consultancy co-lead Georgia's statewide initiative to recruit 10,000 male and female mentors to engage girls and women in STEM through job shadowing, sponsorship, etc. "Because I am a woman in STEM, I am excited to be a part of such a monumental movement that lets girls know that they have the knowledge, skills and ability to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM is for all, regardless of culture, ethnicity or gender"-said Bejanae Kareem.
STEM Immersion Academy
BK International Education Consultancy (BKIEC) partnered with the Clayton County Public Schools to provide exploratory summer learning opportunities through the STEM Immersion Program. SIA is a multi-dimensional Learning Lab offered through BKIEC for both students and teachers. Students in grades 3-11 explored, engaged, and extended their critical thinking, collaborative, and creative natures through integrated STEAM tasks. Alongside of students, teachers learned best practices for implementing STEAM curriculum aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence. To facilitate this multi-dimensional learning, STEAM Coaches guided the process and provided both industry and pedagogical knowledge.
BK International Education Consultancy hosted its third teacher travel expedition to Greece & Italy in June 2018. Educators learned about the rich history, culture, and diverse geography of the mainland and surrounding islands. The goal of the Greece + Italy Cultural Immersion Program was to foster educators' cultural competencies and experience firsthand daily life in Greece and Italy. BK Consultancy conducted an interactive robotics lab for T.E.A.M. Americorps of the Alonzo A Crim Center for Urban Educational Excellence hosted at Georgia State University. The participants learned about the fundamentals of robots, programming and how science and technology are interwoven into daily life. One participant stated, "I really enjoyed the workshop and engagement. I know my students will love it too!"
Blast off with Science!
BK International Education Consultancy and The Georgia Science & Robotics Academy, Inc presented Blasting off with Science!, a fun-filled K-12 family rocket competition.
Families competed for prizes and learned about the science of rocketry and flight.

Teachers Travel to Cuba!
BK International Education Consultancy hosted its first teacher travel expedition to Cuba in April 2017. Educators learned about the rich history, culture, and diverse geography of the island. The goal of the Cuba Cultural Immersion Program (CCIP) was to encourage educators to develop cultural competencies and experience daily life in Cuba firsthand.
Developing Digital Literacies
BK Consultancy conducted an interactive technology lab for middle and high school girls to learn the uses of iMovie software. The participants of Fertile Grounds-Atlanta created digital autobiographies entitled I'm so Fancy equipped with music, voiceover, images and text. Parents and mentors were impressed with their captivating stories.
